Story: Mia Farrow and Woody Allen were made for each other, until Woody fell for Mia’s adopted daughter, Soon Yi Previn.
Why You Should Watch It: This might be the greatest TV movie of all time.
Woody Allen is my favorite director. He’s also someone I NEVER want to meet. I’ve seen all of his movies repeatedly, read most of his biographies and interview books and I’m likely the only Woody Allen fan who has seen “Love and Betrayal” twice.
I saw this when it first aired on Fox (and was the lowest rated TV movie of all time) and recently when I found it on YouTube. What a juicy, entertaining story about a Hollywood couple who’s relationship collapses in the worst possible way. If you followed the scandal between Woody Allen and Soon Yi (or if you are just getting caught up), check out this full movie on youtube.
If the actor who portrays Woody is doing it right, the director of “Annie Hall” and “Husbands and Wives” is even more brilliant than we thought. Because what we see is a coldblooded reptilian control freak of a man. Somehow, he has the ability to tap into the human condition and create great movies, in spite of who he is.
Meanwhile, Mia Farrow is a Hollywood starlet who met the wrong guy, much like what happened to her in “Rosemary’s Baby”. If you want cheap entertainment with depth, look no further. Woody Allen and Soon Yi Previn made-for-tv flick is one to watch. I Can’t Believe It’s on YouTube!
