From family game night to family movie night – will the sacchariferous board game “Candyland” be coming to a theater near you? Word has it Adam Sandler has a sugar rush for the game, although his character in the film remains uncertain. Will Mr. Sandler play King Kandy, the king of Candyland, or perhaps the villain Lord Licorice? Either way, both characters offer chewy roles for this talented thesp.
Fans of the sweet game will recall the character Mamma Gingersnap. Even though her gingersnaps were renown in Candyland, the character (and her snaps) were sadly discontinued. It remains uncertain whether this recall was due to a salmonella scare. We hope her absence will not be perpetuated in the film, as Mamma Gingersnap is a spicy role and will surely attract the most coveted actress.
