Amy Pascal’s Pascal Pictures buys AMERICAN REBEL, written by first-timer Christopher Cosmos. Plot-line follows Deborah Sampson who disguised herself as a man to fight in the Continental army. She managed to dodge medical checks and swimming nude in the Hudson with fellow soldiers to keep her identity hidden for quite awhile. It’s “Yentl” during Revolutionary War times.



Gender-bending is still big – next classic switching gender is MAGNUM P.I. Picked from Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVable Ent and John Rogers up by ABC, M.P.I will follow Magnum’s daughter, Lily. Let’s see if she inherited Father’s Hawaiian shirts and stach.

The app FRUIT NINJA is being adapted for the big screen… seriously people, WHY did you have to get addicted to this game? Well, they listened and they’re now making a friggin’ movie out of it. Film’s plot involves “a team of misfits who are recruited to become Fruit Ninjas in order to save the world.”

How to make it in Hollywood?

Last week’s lesson to make it in Hollywood (as with previous weeks) – gender-bend an existing story, or adapt an annoying mobile game and turn it into an even more annoying theatrical movie.
